Decorative mounting shoes for our Q-Series (½") and Y-Series (⅝") spindles, in flat, fixed-angle and adjustable-angle styles.
To keep our prices as competitive and as low as possible, we don't publish fixed prices — our costs move with demand, availability and stock levels, and we'd rather pass those savings on to you than lock in a rate that goes stale. Request our free catalogue and get in touch for an up-to-date quote.
These shoes are most commonly used when retrofitting metal spindles into an existing wooden staircase — no need to replace the whole balustrade. You'll need two shoes per spindle: one fixed into the tread (or landing) at the bottom, and one fixed into the underside of the handrail at the top. Where a shoe needs to sit on the pitched section of the stair — the rise, not a flat landing — use one of our angled-base shoes so the fixing meets the tread at the correct angle rather than sitting proud.
Our fixed-angle shoes (QB-152/153, YS-317) are formed to a set angle of around 52°, designed to sit against a staircase rise of around 38° — together making up the 90° angle needed between spindle and stair. If your staircase's pitch is different, order our adjustable-angle shoe instead (QB-154, YS-319), which can be set on site to match your exact stair angle rather than a fixed 52°. Not sure which combination you need? Ask us and we'll talk you through it.
